My family and I have begun to talk about the possibility of a big earthquake hitting the Los Angeles area. There have already been a couple miner ones that have struck in this region. After thinking about the possibility of a big earthquake we thought about what could come after, what if the water, power, gas and other utilities going out. This made us realize that if something did happen we were not prepared so we started to talk. We talked about what would happen if the utilities were severed and how we would cope with them being out. So we went shopping. We picked up a lot of dry foods and canned foods because they have a great shelf life and wont expire as quick as other foods would. We stocked pilled on a lot because we don’t know how long it will take for help to get to us. We also bought a lot of water he have five, thirty-two packs in the shed behind our house. Since we rely so much on our vision if the power were to go out we would still need to see, so we also now have a flash light I every room. Gas is another important thing because sometimes when there is an earthquake, gas lines have been known to rupture causing fires and other problems so everyone old enough was taught where the gas pipe shut off valve was in case of an earthquake we wont have gas under our house. The meeting grounds for when there is an earthquake is my house.
